Creating a rowing club for the youth of Chester

We are passionate about making rowing accessible for as many kids as possible, especially those who wouldn't normally have the opportunity. We are a volunteer-run club located on the south side of the River Dee in Chester.

While our club name may be new, we have been part of the Chester and NorthWest rowing community since 1946.  Established first as part of the Boys Grammar School in Chester in 1946, the club for over 75 years focused on providing rowing to the students of the Boys Grammar School, then Queen's Park High School.  One of a handful of state rowing schools in the UK, QPHSRC was successful at both local and national events, with rowers also representing the school at the international level.

2024 saw the club change to an Open rowing club, providing rowing opportunities for students across Chester.  We continue to have strong ties with Queen's Park High School, delivering their rowing program for all year 7 students, and encouraging staff and students to be involved with the club.
